Annual General Meeting

It’s time once again for our Annual General Meeting. This year’s meeting will be held at 7.45pm, Thursday 1st May in the Council Chamber Room, New Mills Town Hall. The meeting will finish no later than 9pm. An agenda is attached.

Please do try to come along if you can. Everyone is welcome but you can only vote if you’re a member (although you will be able to join on the night). Note that renewals of membership for the coming year are now due and you can pay at the AGM.

The Steering Group isn’t proposing any changes to our constitution this year but if you wish to propose any, please let us know in advance so that we can make sure time is given to discuss and vote on them.

The AGM is also the time to elect people to manage and facilitate activities for the group. We have an Administrative Group of 3 people (currently Julian Ashworth, Mike Daw and Angharad Hughes). If you would like to nominate yourself for this group, please let us know. We can take nominations up to one hour before the meeting. If you’d like to discuss a possible nomination, please do get in touch and one of us will be happy to talk with you about what’s involved. Note that we’ll be asking each of the candidates to say a few words about themselves before holding the vote so, if you are nominating yourself, please come prepared.

We hope to see you there!

Regards, Julian, Mike, Angharad

When working for Manchester Met University, I'm responsible for facilitating strategic relationships with businesses and other external organisations. When doing Transition New Mills, I'm on the Steering Committee and facilitating the Energy Action Group.

  1. My apologies for the AGM.

Have a look at the Pollinator Garden at Spring Bank Arts Centre, it is developing nicely, very good little project.
