Free Money!

Well sort of.

As you know, we’re soon holding an event to look at more ambitious projects for Transition New Mills where money is no object.

Coincidentally, we’ve also heard of an ongoing scheme whereby £10 donations to a local group can be matched by £10 of money from the Cabinet Office for Civil Society.

There’s a slight catch in that it costs £72 to register. So, it’s only worth it if we can recoup more than we spend. Before we embark on registering on the scheme and canvassing for donations (from you!), we’d like to see how many of you would be prepared to donate £10 to Transition New Mills. Depending on how many people ‘pledge’ to donate, we’ll consider joining the scheme.

You may ask what we’d spend this money on. Some examples are room hire (£50 for the Widening Horizons event), teas and coffees for participants, this website (£25 a year), printing posters for public events, and so on.

The match-funding offer is open until 31st January 2015 so please let us know your intentions soon!
